Jiang Jiemin inspects the construction and exhibition layout of the oil pavilion for Shanghai Expo

On January 21, at the 100-day countdown to the Shanghai Expo, CNPC President Jiang Jiemin attended the 8th meeting of World Expo Organization Committee, also known as national exhibitor working conference, and inspected the construction and exhibition layout of the oil pavilion site.
Mr. Jiang was briefed on the construction engineering and exhibition layout by the project manager, and highly appreciated the progress and preliminary achievements made by the joint project group. He expressed his gratitude to all the constructors, partners and relevant institutes. He said that the World Expo is a pageant marking the advancement of human civilization. As a global partner of the 2010 World Expo, CNPC, together with China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), build the oil pavilion jointly to show the close tie of oil to human's daily life and social advancement.
The three oil companies jointly build the oil pavilion based on a principal of one unity, one image and one boutique. Main body of the pavilion has been capped in mid July 2009. The civil engineering and stand design now have been completed.
After the opening of the Shanghai Expo on May 1, the oil pavilion, with "Oil¡ªextending city dreams" as its theme, will tell the visitors from home and abroad about the significance and great contributions of oil and petrochemical products and their derivatives to city evolution and the development of human civilization. |
