ˇ°China Annual Insurance People 2009ˇ± award ceremony organized by China Insurance News was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province recently. Mr. Renzo Isler, General Manager of Generali China Life Insurance Co., Ltd was awarded the honor as one of the ˇ°China Annual Insurance People 2009ˇ±, and thus became the only foreigner among the winners.
ˇ°Have Chinese complex and make success overseas as a foreignerˇ± is the comments on Mr. Renzo Isler given by the selection committee. Mr. Renzo Isler is good at six languages, and has had nearly 40 years of insurance management experience. As the General Manager of GCL since 2005, he has combined his international insurance knowledge and experience with Chinese market and has formed the product and service series of GCL with clear characteristics and innovative advantages. Mr. Renzo Isler has also built a strong Chinese complex.
In 2009, led by Mr. Renzo Isler, GCL raised its total premium income to 4.499 billion RMB, ranking 2nd largest among foreign and join-venture life insurers, with a production about double of 2008, far above the average annual growth rate of the whole life insurance industry in China.
Mr. Renzo Isler attended the award ceremony and said that he felt so honored to receive this award as an Italian who had worked in China for only 5 years. He loves China, Chinese people and Chinese Insurance. He would like to do his best to lead all staffs of GCL to provide better insurance products and services for Chinese consumers and make greater contribution to the development of Chinese insurance industry.
ˇ°China Annual Insurance Peopleˇ± is one of the most influential honors in Chinese insurance industry. It is reported that ˇ°China Annual Insurance People 2009ˇ± selection activity has produced strong repercussions in the insurance industry. The selection committee has received nearly 110,000 votes through newspaper and over 2.68 million votes through internet. After a series of procedure such as internet voting and newspaper voting, committee assessment and so on, finally 11 people won the honor, including General Manager of GCL Renzo Isler, President of PICC Property and Casualty Co., Ltd Wang Yincheng, Chairman and CEO of Ping An P&C Insurance Company of China Ren Huichuan and so on.
