GCL launched 2014 Lokar Bianca Growth Plan

In order to improve the health condition of the children in rural areas in China, Generali China Life (GCL) initiated the 2014 Lokar Bianca Growth Plan. The charitable project aims to raise money from the public and the staff of GCL and use this money to provide eggs as the nutrition supplement for the children.

This year, two primary schools entered this plan as beneficiaries: GCL Hope Primary School in Yunnan province, which was funded by GCL in 2006, and a boarding primary school in Sichuan province This program will benefit altogether 348 students, with the total cost of RMB 64,600, to ensure at least one egg a day for each child throughout the whole school year.

Online fund-raising activity was launched on December 25th, 2013 via the GCL official website. Until January 8th, 275 people contributed to raise a total amount of RMB 64,600, the majority of donors being GCL’s staff from across China. Money raised from the program will be transferred to two participating schools through the local charity foundations before January 31st, 2014.

Lokar Bianca Growth Plan was launched in 2012, following the last wish of Mrs. Lokar Bianca, mother of Renzo Isler – General Manager of GCL, who donated RMB 60,000 from her savings to GCL for the purpose of helping the Chinese children in poverty. The contribution of Mrs. Lokar has been used as security fund for the children’s charitable programs; all related programs were subsequently registered under the “Lokar Bianca Growth Plan”. Last year, 160 students of GCL Hope Primary School in Yunnan province benefited from such plan.
